Junior Entrepreneur

Last year (2017) Mr Holland’s sixth class took part in the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. It proved to be a massive success and we think it really is a life-changing programme.
Our product last year was called ‘Busy Beads’ and it was really popular. We achieved a whopping €540 profit and donated €200 to the Galway Hospice.
The whole project was a remarkable experience. We learned about market research, finance, advertising, promotion, sales, profit and loss, design and production, creating PowerPoints and making presentations.
We gained invaluable advice from local businesspersons Eugene and Ronan Greaney of ‘Dough Bros’ and we really enjoyed presenting our ideas to the Dragons in the School Hall.
We also had a School Showcase Day to promote our product which proved to be a huge success.
This year we are busy preparing our presentations for the Dragons as we wait to see which product will be chosen as the ‘Big Idea’. When the ‘Big Idea’ is chosen, the whole class will come together to make the business work. We are very excited!!!
